Bois Forte Public Health COVID-19 Case Announcement 10/27/20

On October 26, 2020, Bois Forte Health Services confirmed that there was one new case of COVID-19 on the Bois Forte Reservation.  The case is in the 0-10 year old age group and resides on the Vermilion sector of the Reservation.  

Bois Forte Reservation currently has 3 active positive cases of COVID-19, 0 in Nett Lake and 2 in Vermilion.   Bois Forte has had a total of 23 active and recovered positive cases of COVID-19, 13 in Nett Lake and 10 in Vermilion.  Recovered, means they are no longer contagious and have been released from Isolation.  

Rest assured that Bois Forte Health is doing everything in its power to keep the Reservation community safe while also providing support for those who have tested positive for COVID-19.  Bois Forte Health will maintain regular contact with the isolated individuals and will monitor their compliance with isolation instructions.  Bois Forte Health is engaged in contact tracing and will follow up with those suspected of having recent contact with the individuals who tested positive.  Finally, the Band is coordinating with the Minnesota Department of Health regarding positive cases on-Reservation to ensure a robust and thorough public health response.
