2026 Bois Forte Moose Season Information
The Bois Forte Band of Chippewa is having a Moose Hunt this year and it will be held within the boundaries of the Reservation.
SEASON DATES: September 12 – December 31, 2026
NO. OF PERMITS: Nine total (9) (hunt will end when 5 moose are tagged or end of season)
LEGAL MOOSE: Antlered Bulls Only
Timeline:
- July 20 — Applications Available
- August 28 — Applications Due*
- September 1 — Lottery Drawing Held
- September 9 — Permit, Tag, and Information Provided to Lead Hunter
- September 12 — Moose Hunt Begins
*Applications MUST be received by August 28th. Late applications will NOT be included in the drawing. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Lottery winners must pick up permit booklet by September 12th 4:30pm.
Applications are available at the Bois Forte DNR and the Bois Forte Website (Download) or contact us and we can either e-mail or mail one to you.
