Regulatory monitoring and evaluation of Reservation surface water quality as defined by the federal Clean Water Act for community/public use and aquatic life sustainability.

Water Quality and Ecological Resources Program efforts focus on water chemistry monitoring; aquatic life monitoring; waterfowl population monitoring and enhancement efforts; Nett Lake wild rice growth and production monitoring; updates on rice condition to inform rice conditions and harvest schedule; coordination of USDA non-insured crop disaster assistance program for Nett Lake wild rice; lake/ stream nuisance vegetation removal program; beaver control efforts; land restoration programs to restore historical watercourse and lake extent conditions; contract aquatic vegetation removal services; coordination of the annual Nett Lake wild rice buying and finishing program.
