Youth Language Camp
Twenty six Summer Youth participants from Nett Lake and Vermilion traveled to Echo Lake Campground on July 20 for a three day Language Camp sponsored by the Bois Forte Culture Committee.
The kids, who wore name tags with their Indian name, had a full schedule including daily language lessons, teachings on Ceremonies, Powwow etiquette, making fry bread, canoe safety, dream catcher and basket making, and cultural games. When they had a rare free moment, they headed to the lake for swimming and fishing. Click here to enjoy photos of the Language Camp. |
